I precisely mean that, the feeling I experienced going to Atlantic City for the grand opening of a brand-new venue. You know the feeling when you go to a place that you’ve been to before, but it seems different or better. That’s the way I felt when I went to Atlantic City this past Saturday. Sure, it was the same place, except this time something changed. It seemed like the Atlantic City of yesteryear. For all of you that don’t know what that is, it was back in the ’80s when this place was booming, it was the only place on the east coast with legalized gambling, not only did it have that abundance of excitement, but everywhere you went people were gathered, laughing and have a good ole time. Ah, those were the days! Not to say before Saturday, you couldn’t have fun, but if you’re under age 21, the options were limited. The difference was the arrival of The Lucky Snake, a brand-new Arcade and Sports bar which slithered its way to the Showboat with a grand entrance. On a warm Spring Saturday afternoon, something magical saw FAMILIES with their kids inside having an exciting time.
I know you’re thinking, “there’s an arcade on the Boardwalk along with sports bars, so what makes this special It’s not on the Boardwalk, but inside the Showboat hotel; We all know how crowded the Boardwalk can get; people everywhere, and with kids, it’s hard to keep a watch on them. Inside, you have your choice of miniature golf, arcade games (Mario, Pacman, and Space Invaders, to name a few), bowling, and a whole lot more. Suppose you’re like me and love those eighties games, then this place is for you. Imagine playing Pacman or any other game and watching it on a giant screen. For you, bowling lovers, try your hand at bowling. Are you a sports lover? The Sports bar has an array of big screens that makes it hard for you to miss your favorite sporting event.
I could go on and on about this place, and it’s worth the trip. Like everything, you have setbacks, and Atlantic City is no exception. Saturday’s Grand Opening was just a preview of wonderful things to come. This snake is alive and well and living at the Showboat hotel. Please don’t take my word; plan your visit today and check it out. Warning beware of the bite; you may not want to leave.
