5 reason why kelsey’s bar is worth going to

So, if you’ve been to Atlantic City and adventured out, it’s likely that you’ve seen Kelsey’s. It is a famous soul food supper club at the corner of Pacific and Kentucky avenues for those who don’t know about it. 

A favorite of many who visit is the bar, a spot where you can sit back, conversate, have a light meal or snack, enjoy a cocktail, and savor your evening. At night, Kelsey’s is transformed into a sophisticated nightclub, and experience the sights, sounds, smells and tastes that you can enjoy right from the bar. 

Here are my five reasons you would want to check out the bar scene:

DRINKS – Skip what? They don’t skip on the glasses, portion, and taste. They have a variety. Each drink packs a punch, from the first to the last.

MUSIC – Many restaurants offer live music. At Kelsey’s, the music is the main attraction. The musicians have a complete stage and sound system to hear from any seat. The high-top table is the perfect spot at the bar. Keep in mind the bands are there from Friday through Sunday, 7:30 to 10:30. Ensure that you check with Kelsey’s as days and times can change, especially during the holidays.   

ONE OF A KIND – Okay, so every Nightclub says their place is one of a kind. The vibe here gives that feeling of the kind of place you’ll see in a hotel. You know the type, the quaint little bar off by itself, music from the piano player, a handful of people, relaxing and having a cocktail. (movies like Pretty Woman and Waiting to Exhale had a  quaint little bar) The best way to describe it is a hot spot yet quiet. 

SNACKS – If you’re like me, sipping on your favorite cocktail, you think of a snack; after all, they go hand-in-hand. Unfortunately, some snacks are either dried up, have no taste, or are cold. Well, here, the snacks are that of a meal. BBQ ribs, cornbread, or catfish nuggets. Forget about that gas station cold pizza slices or rigid dried-up chicken wings; at Kelsey’s, your biggest dilemma may be trying to decide on what to eat.

SPORTING EVENTS- I know what you’re thinking; if it’s a lounge, why would I want to watch sporting events there? No, it’s not like your traditional sports bar, and I’m sure most people would even think twice about it. But, if you do, you may be surprised; the set-up may surprise you. With two substantial flat-screen TVs behind the bar and two others on each size, it can be a great place to watch your favorite sporting event. Also, you won’t have the loud and rowdy crowd fans trying to get that perfect spot.
