Miami, Florida, located in the Southern part of Florida – is the cultural, economic, and financial center of South Florida. NYC meets Beaches and Palm trees, as I like to call it. From shopping, the beach, entertainment, and nightlife, the happenings are endless. You can’t leave here without experiencing some shopping, whether you’re in the line for new swimwear or dress like the locals. Miami boasts some of the best malls in the state and the U.S. for shopping. Dolphin, Sawgrass, Lincoln Road, and Aventura Malls are four of the best malls, not only in the State of Florida but the U.S. Can you shop all these in a day? I will explore that question. All these malls are unique in their way, yet they all have remarkably similar factors.
Dolphin Mall
The County’s largest retail value shopping center, this mall boasts over 240 retail outlets and the hottest concepts in theme entertainment, dining, and a bowling alley.
Sawgrass Mall
Located in Sunrise, Florida, in Broward County, this mall is 30 minutes west of Ft Lauderdale. Sawgrass Mall is the second largest tourist destination in Florida, only behind the land of the mouse in Orlando. Every day, massive tourist buses coming from Miami arrive several times a day. Sawgrass Mall includes more upscale outlet brands such as St. John, Burberry, Coach, Barneys New York, Michael Kors, Ralph Lauren, Kate Spade, and Tommy Bahama and restaurants such as Grand Lux Cafe, P. F. Chang’s, and China Bistro. There’s also a life-sized alligator figure for your picture-taking collection. Sawgrass Mall can be a day-long experience or longer – make sure you have your walking shoes; as the saying goes, “this place was made for walking.”
Lincoln Road
You can’t go to Miami without taking a stroll through South Beach and Lincoln Road, world-famous shopping & dining promenade in the heart of South Beach. It features more than two hundred national retailers and designer brands—located just a few blocks off the beach, South Florida’s premier outdoor shopping, dining, and entertainment destination. If you’re looking for excitement, look no further, bustling with locals and tourists, it creates the ultimate spot for people-watching. With an array of restaurants, cafés, and bars, this friendly prime sidewalk seating is necessary for catching a parade of local characters, models, street performers, and pets dressed (almost better) than their owners. You may see anything on this block, from birds sitting on one’s shoulder to or snake around their neck.
Daytime – Enjoy the real South Beach and its laidback atmosphere at a table – hiding under an umbrella from the hot sun, all while sipping coffee or a nice cool cocktail. Of course, we can’t forget about the kids; there’s plenty of fountains, green spaces, and islands where they can play and run free.
Night-time – The saying, “it’s a difference between Night and Day,” certainly had Lincoln Road in mind, the tempo picks up, as well as the crowd, and the vibe completely changes. Music from restaurants and bars convey to the streets as hostesses work to entice people to the tables with Happy Hour specials.
Aventura Mall
To catch a break from the hot Miami sun, Aventura Mall is an upscale, indoor shopping center, voted the best place to shop in Miami, and a perfect destination for all things. It receives over twenty-eight million visitors a year: the third largest mall in the United States by the total square footage of retail space, and the largest mall in Florida. This luxurious mall features boutiques including Apple, Anthropologie, Burberry, Cartier, and Givenchy, to name a few. To top it off, it also includes an indoor amusement park, a 24-screen movie theatre, free Wi-Fi, and dozens of restaurants.
Depending on your shopping needs, you’re sure to find anything at any of these four malls. But, to shop them all in one day – Let’s say, that would be one challenge I would not want to live up to.
